Free Printable - Sunflower Personal Planner Inserts

Dabbling in watercolor painting has been my favorite down-time activity lately, and fall inspired me with leaves and pumpkins and sunflowers soon followed after.  You can see the resulting Fall Watercolor sticker collections in the shop and I thought it would be nice to have simple planner inserts that coordinate.  Sunflowers are cheerful all year round, but I especially love them as a bright pop of color amidst the darker reds and oranges of the fall season.

Click to download from Dropbox:  Watercolor Sunflower Printable Personal Planner Inserts

These free printable planner inserts are a Week on Two Pages set up, and they are undated so you can use them any time. The days of the week are in a gentle grey to coordinate with the sunflower's coloring.  The download is sized for personal size ring binder planners, such as the Webster's Color Crush (shown in the photos) or the Filofax Personal and Compact, Kate Spade Wellesley, and Kikki K Medium planners.  Pages measure 3.75" wide x 6.75" tall. You may need Acrobat Reader (freeware) to open this file and print. You can download Acrobat Reader at official site of Adobe: http://get.adobe.com/reader/

The download is a one page pdf to print at home on 8.5 x 11 inch paper. The pdf includes cutting guidelines. When you go to print these pages, be sure the Page Scaling setting is set to "None" to ensure accurate sizing.  Follow your printer instructions for double sided printing.  For printing planner inserts, I use a 22 pound weight printer paper. It's a little heavier than average multi-use paper so it holds up better to a variety of pens. The heavier the paper you use, the more options you will have for pens, markers or stamping without having the color bleed through to the back side.

If you are familiar with cutting your own printable planner pages, then you are all set. If you would like to learn about my method, read on!

To cut my planner inserts, I use a self-healing craft cutting mat, a straight edge metal ruler, a craft knife, a 3/16" hole punch, and a sample page with holes already cut.

This pdf has cutting guidelines to help keep your pages uniform.  Start with the longest cuts, on the top and bottom of your pages.  Do not cut all the way down the length of the page.  If you separate that top margin from the printed planner pages it will be difficult to make the perpendicular cuts accurately.  Just cut from end to end of the cutting guidelines on both sides, then turn your cutting mat 90 degrees and cut the remaining three edges.  You can see in the photo below how the waste paper creates a window around the planner pages.  This process works the best for me.

Now for the holes.  You can use planner pages that you already have or the ruler / bookmark that comes in most planners to correctly punch the holes.  Sometimes it helps to make a card stock sample with the proper hole spacing and use that as a guideline.  There are also adjustable multi-hole punches on the market. I use a Crop-A-Dile from We R Memory Keepers.  It has many different tools on it and it's great for paper crafters!

Once your holes are punched, you are good to go.  These are undated pages, so you will want to add the appropriate dates and then get planning!

Thanks so much for visiting the blog!  We'll see you soon.
